What WCAD Does
Williamson Central Appraisal District determines the market value of every taxable property in the county each year as of January 1. That value — not the tax rate — is the number you can protest. WCAD appraises over 289,000 properties across one of the fastest-growing counties in the nation.
If you believe your appraised value is too high, see our full Williamson County (WCAD) protest guide for the step-by-step filing process, the same-day hearing structure, and evidence tips.
Filing an Exemption with WCAD
Homestead and other exemptions are filed with WCAD using Texas Comptroller Form 50-114. See our Texas homestead exemption guide for who qualifies, how much it typically saves, and how to apply.
